This unique combination will enable partners to take full advantage of the significant market opportunity for APEX, said Simon Bennett, managing director Advanced Solutions, UK and Ireland, TD SYNNEX

“With Dell APEX, our partners can deliver the very best and most appropriate technologies and solutions alongside the experience and expertise of our cloud, enterprise infrastructure and professional services teams to design, deliver and support customer projects. Partners can create and offer solutions that meet exact customer needs and provide both the flexibility of the cloud and the peace-of-mind of on-premises deployments.

This was a recognition of the strong and consistent investment TD SYNNEX has made and the exceptional service and support it delivers to partners.

TD SYNNEX expands Destination AI Ecosystem to deliver rapid AI model development

FREMONT, Calif., & CLEARWATER, Fla. – Nov. 30, 2023 – Following the successful launch of its Destination AI program earlier this year, TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) will expand its AI enablement and training capabilities further through their offering of a new solution that uses artificial intelligence to analyse and understand images and videos, the Intel Geti software platform. TD SYNNEX will serve as an initial distributor of the platform in the U.S. and Europe.

In TD SYNNEX’s recent Direction of Technology report, the number of partners offering AI/ML solutions skyrocketed by 625 percent globally, and in North America, AI/ML is the top technology skill partners are looking to hire for in the coming months.

“Our enterprise and ISV partners are increasing their AI solution offerings and are looking for enablement and training tools to support that rapid growth and address the challenges that often come up. This vision AI platform fills a critical role in that process,” said Lisa McGarvey, VP, Data, AI & IoT Solutions, North America, TD SYNNEX. “With the Intel Geti platform as part of our Destination AI program, we are adding another innovative solution to the robust AI tools, enablement and services that we are providing for our partners.”

The Intel Geti platform is currently available for trial and purchase for eligible TD SYNNEX partners in the U.S. and Europe. For more information, contact GetiSales@tdsynnex.com

TD SYNNEX launches Financial Services Industry Ecosystem

Group will bring together ISVs, financial market specialists and partners with complementary skills to develop and market new solutions and services

Basingstoke, 29 November 2023 – TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) has launched an industry ecosystem community for financial services with the aim of bringing ISVs and businesses that have specialist expertise, applications or services, together with partners that have access to markets.

The first official meeting was held at IBM’s prestigious York Road location in London earlier this month, with an initial core group of interested parties gathering to discuss strategic objectives and a plan of action. Presenters included: Lee Armstrong, director ecosystems and global system integration, UK and Ireland at IBM; Ian Lyon, global technology sales in finance and banking at IBM; and Yusuf Budeiri, senior client technical professional for IBM Sterling, the vendor’s advanced supply chain solution for financial services.

The next stage will see key players working together to organise the first large-scale event aimed at ISVs, solutions and service providers, end user organisations and other interested partners. This is currently scheduled to take place in April 2024.

Neil Cornish, Ecosystems Business Manager at TD SYNNEX, said: “It’s great to get the financial services industry ecosystem up and running. The initial meeting was extremely productive and we are all looking forward to bringing together interested parties with different perspectives, skills, and capabilities as we expand and develop the ecosystem.

“Financial services organisations have extremely diverse needs and with the exciting new developments we are now seeing in generative AI and in data analytics, there is huge potential to create new and differentiated solutions and to drive additional value for customers.”

Helping financial services organisations to meet regulatory and compliance needs is another major area of opportunity, he added. “One of the big talking points at our first meeting was around DORA – the Digital Operational Resilience Act, the requirements of which all financial services organisations will need to meet by the start of 2025. It will also impact third party providers, and many will need help to become fully compliant, creating new opportunities for partners to work together to address these requirements.”

The Financial Services Industry Ecosystem is the seventh to be launched by TD SYNNEX in the UK. Three others cover other industry sectors – Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Retail and Distribution. The remaining three are technology ecosystems, focused on Sustainability, Cybersecurity and on Red Hat containerised solutions. They are all operating successfully with regular gatherings and workshops taking place.

Since the first ecosystem (Healthcare) was launched, there has been a real shift in attitudes, said Cornish. “Four years ago, if we’d have asked a group of partners at one of our meetings if they were collaborating with any other organisations to deliver solutions, we’d have drawn a blank. Today, we would always expect to see multiple relationships already in place or in development. There is a recognition that as requirements become more complex no single partner can do it all for every customer. And, over the past four years, one major change has taken place between participating partners – trust.

“By creating these ecosystems, we are bringing together businesses with different skill sets and capabilities, accelerating collaboration and partnership within the channel. By participating in events and round tables, trust grows between partners. This approach is working in all the six areas we’ve already launched and I’m confident it will also work very well in financial services.”

Zyxel Networks calls on schools and trusts to consider all options for new infrastructure investment

With budgets under more pressure than ever, educational establishments can get top performance, quality and reliability without having to pay higher prices for premium brands

Wokingham, 20 November 2023 – Zyxel Networks is urging the UK’s schools and colleges that are looking to upgrade their network infrastructure before their end of the year and over the holiday period to broaden their horizons and consider all the options and possibilities before they make their crucial purchasing decisions.

Budget pressure on schools is growing. In September, the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) warned that schools are having to make substantial cuts due to extra financial pressures1. Despite the overall budget for schools increasing by £3.5 billion for 2023-24, almost half (49 percent) of primaries, and 41 percent of secondaries expect to see a deficit for 2022-23.

A recent study of UK trusts2 found that almost one fifth (19 percent) of chief executives lack confidence about their financial sustainability in the future – a huge increase on last year, when only 4 percent said they were not confident about long-term finances. Fewer than half of respondents to the National School Trust Survey, organised by the Confederation of School Trusts (CST), said they felt very or quite confident in their financial sustainability.

Rachel Rothwell, Senior Regional Director, UK and Ireland at Zyxel Networks, said that as a result of all this pressure, schools looking to upgrade their infrastructure need to give even more consideration to IT investment decisions.

“Schools and trusts were already under massive pressure to make cutbacks and this year’s RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) debacle has added to that. At the same time, they are expected to provide the latest technology and ensure the online safety of pupils. They are having to think long and hard about how they can reduce costs without having an impact on teaching and they now have very little room for manoeuvre. One area in which they can still make real savings without compromising is in their choice of networking technologies. While the official advice might be to purchase products from some of the more expensive brand names, solutions from Zyxel and other manufacturers can do just as good a job for much less investment.”

This is especially true when it comes to the latest technologies, such as WiFi 6/6E and WiFi 7, multi-gigabit switching and multi-layered security, she continued. “Zyxel has excellent, fast, reliable wireless, switching and unified threat management solutions that are highly effective and much more affordable. Our MSP partners can configure and support all of our devices though the Nebula cloud management platform, so there really is no reason why schools can’t get the very best and latest technologies, without paying a premium.”

Zyxel recently became one of the first networking vendors to launch a WiFi 7 access point. Last month, it also has also announced a new range of firewall appliances that provide multi-layered protection at the gateway to the network.

TD SYNNEX succeeds in moving to green energy across all UK locations

100 pecent of electricity consumed by UK operations now comes from renewable sources

Basingstoke, 14 November 2023 – TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) has announced that it has succeeded in getting all four of its UK locations running on electricity from a renewable source before the end of 2023, which means that 100 percent of the electricity consumed by the business now comes from renewable sources.

The achievement further reduces TD SYNNEX’s UK carbon footprint and its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. It came after the management company for TD SYNNEX’s Bracknell offices confirmed that it has now switched to a green energy tariff from National Grid for The Capitol Building at Oldbury.

TD SYNNEX UK was already getting 90 percent of its power from renewable sources, with its warehouse facility at Magna Park, Lutterworth, and the office locations in Basingstoke and Warrington all using green energy.

Kevin Wragg, director, environment and quality compliance, TD SYNNEX said: “We had set a target to get all our UK operations onto renewable electricity by the end of 2023 and we’re pleased to have achieved that goal. It’s vitally important that our industry continues to make progress in reducing its carbon impact and it is worth celebrating as every small step takes us a little bit closer to net zero.”

Efficiency gains, especially at its main Basingstoke offices, have also seen TD SYNNEX reduce its energy consumption quite significantly and the UK operation is on target to achieve its goal of achieving a 20 percent reduction this year. In Q1 2024, it expects to have electric vehicle charging points at all four UK locations. These will be free at the point of delivery to co-workers. There are already EV points available at the Basingstoke location.

TD SYNNEX has a defined plan to reduce its carbon impact in the UK. It is working with its courier partners to reduce the carbon output of deliveries and is also supporting partners in their efforts to be more sustainable. It offers a net zero carbon (NZC) consultancy service to partners and makes its experts available to speak at partner events. It has partnered with Treedom and Verra (offsetting), Egencia (travel) and Climate Partners (carbon reduction).

In the UK, TD SYNNEX has signed up to Techies Go Green and for the Microsoft Partner Pledge. Across Europe it has achieved ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality) and ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management System) and been accredited for Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialization.

Globally, TD SYNNEX has signed the SBTi (Science Based Target initiative) Business Ambition Pledge, which encourages ambitious climate action and emissions reduction targets. It continues to incorporate circular economy principles into its lifecycle management strategy and to minimise waste through repair, refurbishment and recycling of IT equipment TD SYNNEX also reports its environmental sustainability performance through the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
