  • Three out of four locations now on renewable energy as Magna Park goes green
  • From January 90 percent of power consumed will be from renewable sources
  • TD SYNNEX achieves ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards – all four UK sites now hold ISO certifications

Basingstoke, 12 December 2022 –TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) has taken another important step to reduce its carbon footprint in the UK with the Magna Park warehousing facility at Lutterworth switching to green energy from the start of the new financial year on 01 December 2022.

The change is significant as the warehouse facility is TD SYNNEX’s biggest location in the UK in terms of power consumption. It means that – along with the planned relocation of the Basingstoke office next month – more than 90 percent of the electricity consumed by TD SYNNEX in the UK will be coming from renewable sources.

In converting to green energy, Magna Park has joined the Warrington office, which was already using renewable sources. The Basingstoke office will move to green power when it is relocated to a nearby, more energy-efficient building in January 2023. This facility also has over 500 solar panels on the roof. TD SYNNEX is in negotiation with the owners of its Bracknell location with the goal of converting to green energy there by the end of 2023.

Mick Gilmore, facilities manager, said: “It’s great news that Magna Park has switched over to green power and it means that by January 2023 three of our four locations will be on renewable energy. That’s a big step forward and will mean 90 percent-plus of the electricity we use will be from renewable sources. We are pleased to have made so much progress this quickly. While converting to green energy means we do incur some additional cost, we had no hesitation in making this change as soon as possible.”

The ISO certifications took place as part of a comprehensive ISO audit conducted by TD SYNNEX across Europe. They are part of a wider QEMS programme that also encompasses specific environmental targets for the business.
