New Business Transformation programme to be launched at City of London event next month

Basingstoke, 31 May 2016 –– Tech Data will launch a new learning and transformation programme that will provide resellers with all the resources they need to build successful cloud practices at a special partner briefing in the City of London next month.

Tech Data will be explaining how its new Business Transformation programme will enable resellers to access, power and master cloud solutions and services. It provides a complete, end-to-end process that draws on a range of skills development resources and tools, including a special learning programme, the Tech Data Channel Academy online training portal, the company’s Business Solutions Centre at Heathrow, and the StreamOne aggregation and management portal.

Andy Brown, Director of Cloud Services for UK and Ireland at Tech Data, said that 2016 is the year for resellers to really get switched on to delivering cloud solutions. “Customers are now looking to accelerate their adoption of public cloud services. Enterprises are starting to understand that hybrid infrastructures will help them to increase their performance and business agility. As consumption increases, resellers will be expected to provide customers with advice and proven services. The resources we offer enable them to develop the skills and capabilities they need, with the full backing and support of Tech Data’s experts throughout the whole journey.”

Resellers will need to become brokers of cloud services or service providers in their own right, said Brown. “While many have already attained some cloud knowledge and capability, others are just starting out.  The cloud is still relatively new, so it is not easy to tell where your cloud practice is in terms of level of maturity. Whatever point you have reached, there will still more to discover and learn. The Tech Data Business Transformation programme will help resellers fill the gaps – to work out where they are now and what other capabilities they still need to develop, and then attain and optimise those additional skills.”

The programme begins with a self-assessment of current capabilities and then provides practical tools for further development. It will identify the level of maturity of the partner’s current cloud capabilities, and provide a series of recommended changes and specific steps, all of which will be benchmarked against an optimal target operating model.

Brown said: “The Business Transformation programme will enable resellers to see exactly where they are today in terms of their cloud delivery capability and chart a route forward, so they will be able to focus on the areas that will make a real difference.”

The assessment and tuition offered as part of the programme will be delivered by a professional learning services partner. Tech Data will be announcing full details at the event which takes place at the 8 Fenchurch Street conference venue in the City of London on Tuesday 14th June.

Both current and new partners are being invited to the event, at which key speakers will explain Tech Data’s approach to the cloud and outline details of the Business Transformation programme. Tech Data will also be demonstrating its Channel Academy, BSC and StreamOne resources.

Resellers can register for the event here.
