- After seeing a rapid acceleration in sales over the first half of the year, further support will be available for partners to take the most popular ready-made solutions to market
- Additional technical resources deployed to support further growth ambitions for the rest of this year
Basingstoke, 28 July 2021 – Tech Data’s technical services team is ready to support partners in anticipation of increased demand in its four most popular Click to Run cloud services. During the first half of the year, sales of these services accelerated with a resulting triple digit growth, and Tech Data has allocated addition technical resources to support partners in taking these solutions to market and driving significant a further increase.
The Click to Run solutions are easy for partners to sell, deploy and manage. Tech Data provides pre-sales technical consultancy, training, and deployment support to partners on all Click to Run offerings. Between January and June, Tech Data’s partners have sold more than 100 Click to Run solutions. There is a strong pipeline of prospects, and more partners are coming on-board, going through the enablement process, and preparing to take them to market.
For its top four Click to Run solutions – for Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), the Secure Score risk assessment framework; and for both Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions built upon Veritas and Veeam – Tech Data is targeting a significantly higher triple-figure sales growth for these solutions for the overall calendar year. Sales of these solutions have been particularly strong over the past six months and Tech Data is providing additional support for partners to help them develop their go-to-market plans.
Andy Brown services director, advanced solutions, Tech Data, UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve been taking a technically-led approach with these solutions, and we’ve seen significant successes with all four as a result. As Click to Run solutions are pre-configured and integrated, they are fast to deploy and deliver faster time to value. We are now ready to help more partners capitalise on that and deliver extremely good and cost-effective solutions for their customers and thus drive up their own consumption revenues and monthly income stream.”
Matt Child, managing director, advanced solutions, Tech Data, UK & Ireland, added: “We have made a strong investment to deploy a team of 11 technical experts aligned to our cloud business. This ensures that our customers can get a good understanding of all of the features and benefits – both technically and commercially – in deploying our Click to Run solutions. Having technical people engaged earlier in the sales cycle has reaped dividends as the market wakes up to the fact that the IT environment is more multi-faceted than ever before and as such, technical skills and competencies have never been more needed.”
In one case, following a close technical engagement with the Tech Data team, an established partner committed to making the Windows Virtual Desktop Click to Run solution as its standard offering. Having invested time in training in the solution itself and in understanding how to order and provision the Click to Run solutions though Tech Data’s StreamOne cloud aggregation platform, the partner started taking the solution to their customers in March and has since made a promising number of sales.
An internal Tech Data team has created a blueprint for engagement on the Click to Run solutions which ensures that a consistent and successful approach is taken with every deployment. Over the next few months, more Click to Run solutions will be made available through the technical practice.
Tech Data has created Click to Run solutions to make it easier and faster for partners to offer and deploy cloud-based solutions and thus drive up consumption revenue. In doing so, partners can make the transition to a business model based on services and subscriptions faster and without having to make too much up-front investment in developing their own capabilities and platforms. The technically-led skills and services provided by Tech Data Advanced Solutions, and its StreamOne platform also provide invaluable support for partners on their transformational journey.
