Survey of customers shows that 90 percent believe they can benefit from the further provision of technical account management services from their trusted distribution partner

Basingstoke, 27 June 2019 – Tech Data (Nasdaq: TECD) has highlighted technical account management services as one of the key areas in which resellers would welcome added assistance and resources from their trusted distributor partner, highlighting the importance of Tech Data’s on-going investment in the area.

Nine out of ten customers (90 percent) surveyed as part of the Tech Data Advance feedback process identified the availability of aligned technical account management as having specific value, underlining the need for the continued investment Tech Data is making in delivering professional services capability, said Andy Brown, Advanced Solutions Technical Services Director at Tech Data UK.

“The customer survey revealed that there is a growing need amongst resellers for high-quality technical services at both the pre-sales and post-sales stages. As demand for technical skills grows, we can only see that increasing. Within Tech Data, we have an exceptional professional and technical services team and our customers call on that capability to fill any gaps that they might have in their own skills or use it as additional capacity when they have a high volume of work to manage.”

Giving resellers access to skilled experts and enabling them to build strong working relationships, means they can advance their own capabilities and enter new markets sooner, he added.

“Making use of Tech Data’s expertise means they do not have to invest in developing their own specific expertise in area such as analytics, Big Data and IoT, allowing them to make a speedier entrance into new solutions areas and emerging technologies. They can then work with our team and draw on our extensive enablement and training resources to develop sustainable business and drive recurring revenue streams.”

The survey also found that 85 percent would value additional support and access to expertise on business intelligence and 72 percent of partners said the potential for partner-to-partner collaboration could be ‘very important’ in the future. Resellers see the top three areas of growth potential as being cloud, security and the data centre – all of which Tech Data is investing in strongly to drive partner knowledge, enablement and growth.

In addition, Tech Data has been making significant investment in expanding its capability to support partners on key services. These include the Cloud Assessment and Migration service, which enables resellers to develop and implement strategies for customers, and Cloud Express – a 24 x 7 managed services offering for both AWS and Microsoft Azure environments.

Tech Data’s Security Support Services offers a complete end-to-end, integrated security service, delivered by vendor-accredited, experienced professionals. Tech Data has also established a Multi-Vendor Maintenance (MVM) service, providing a ‘single-point’ aggregated maintenance solution that enables them to offer on-site service cover and thus extend product life-cycles and reduce the risk of downtime for customers.
