The companies will work together to extend the reach of proven solutions to more security partners with full-on-boarding and expert support from Tech Data’s Security Practice

Basingstoke, 19 July 2022Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) company, and Proofpoint, a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, have formed a partnership aimed at taking Proofpoint’s tried and tested enterprise-grade email security solutions to more partners in the UK channel.

Following its success in accelerating growth with specialised Proofpoint partners and in key growth technologies, Tech Data is now ready to drive more revenue through the wider security partner community with the Proofpoint portfolio, said Alison Nixon, business unit director – security, UK and Ireland, at Tech Data.

“Email protection is a vital element of perimeter defences for all organisations now – from the largest global enterprise to small businesses with just a handful of workers – and we see huge potential for our security partners to grow with Proofpoint. We have sales and technical resources primed and ready to support partners, so we are ready to hit the ground running. We’ll be looking to work with existing partners and to bring on-board new partners, and to help them capitalise on the strong and growing reputation that Proofpoint has for providing rock-solid email protection.”

Proofpoint joins a formidable line-up of leading security solutions that are now available from Tech Data. Tech Data’s dedicated security practice has a team of more than 40 experts who provide pre-sales business development and technical support to partners. It also offers a range of managed security services and through the Practice Builder methodology, provides enablement and competency training that helps partners develop their own expertise and deliver value-added service to their own customers.

“Regardless of the level of sophistication, modern cyberattacks tend to share one common trait – they target the inbox. Email, and in particular corporate email, remains the number one way  cybercriminals target organisations”, commented Neill Burton, vice president of channels and alliances, EMEA at Proofpoint. “Proofpoint is the first company to integrate a people-centric view into its security platform to easily identify vulnerable users and create a tailored security approach to best protect each individual employee. This expanded relationship with Tech Data delivers first class protection that meets the needs of organisations facing today’s fast-evolving threat landscape and further enforces Proofpoint’s commitment to its channel business in the UK.”

Proofpoint Email Protection solutions can be deployed as a cloud service or on premises.  It protects organisations against malware and threats that don’t involve malware, including imposter email, or business email compromise (BEC).

To compliment email security, Tech Data will also specialise in Proofpoint’s award-winning Security Awareness Training solution that helps organisations raise knowledge of how to minimise risk when using email and online services. By delivering a holistic education, training and “in email” tags, partners will be able to support their customers with a unified Email and Awareness platform.

Finally, in addition to protecting against advanced email threats, Tech Data will launch Proofpoint’s enterprise portfolio including Insider Threat Management (ITM) solution, Security Service Edge and leading Email Data Loss Prevention (DLP) that help organisations mitigate the risk of data loss.
