- The company is in the running for a trio of Comms Business Awards and a duo of accolades in the first ever UK Fibre Awards
- Recognition not only of the company’s continued contribution to building out the UK’s essential Full Fibre infrastructure, but also the excellent example set by its progressive and inclusive culture
London/Telford, 09 May 2022 – CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent Full Fibre platform, has been named on the shortlist in three categories for this year’s Comms Business Awards and for two accolades in the inaugural UK Fibre Awards. These latest successes reflect not only CityFibre’s continued innovation and investment in bringing Full Fibre opportunities to partners all over the UK, but also its commitment to people and diversity in the workplace.
In the Comms Business Awards, the company has been listed as a contender in the Best Fibre Connectivity Provider category, which recognises those businesses leading the way in bringing fibre products and services to market and making them easily accessible for partners. CityFibre is also shortlisted for the Workplace Award for channel organisations that put their people first. It’s the second year in succession that CityFibre has been on the shortlist for both accolades.
In addition, CityFibre is in the running for the 2022 Diversity in the Workplace award. This recognises companies that are doing all they can to attract and retain a diverse workforce and make a tangible difference on this important issue.
CityFibre is also a contender for the Best Fibre Innovation and Fibre Provider Investment categories in the inaugural UK Fibre Awards, which will recognise the stand-out organisations, projects, technology, and investments that are driving the growth of Britain’s booming full fibre, alternative network and carrier sectors.
Commenting on the nominations, CityFibre’s Head of Wholesale, Andy Wilson said: “CityFibre is often in contention for awards that recognise its leading contribution to delivering fibre infrastructure, and the opportunities that go with that to the market, and it’s an honour to once again be in contention for the Best Fibre Connectivity Provider award, and to be recognised in the first UK Fibre Awards for our innovative approach and continued commitment to building out the UK’s vital Full Fibre infrastructure.
“The fact that CityFibre has also been put forward for two awards that reflect our passion for people and for equity and inclusion, is a great honour and an achievement in itself. It’s also a demonstration of how CityFibre, as well as being a leader in the delivery of digital connectivity, is also setting a great example in terms of its attitude and approach to people, personal development, and fairness in the workplace.”
CityFibre is the UK’s largest independent Full Fibre infrastructure platform and with its £4 billion investment plan will make Full Fibre services available to eight million UK homes, 800,000 businesses, 400,000 public sector sites and 250,000 5G access points by the end of 2025. Since September 2021, it raised an additional £1.425 billion to support its Full Fibre rollout to a third of the UK market and to enable participation in Building Digital UK (BDUK)’s Project Gigabit programme for rural coverage.
Working with wholesale business partners throughout the UK, CityFibre continues to deliver ground-breaking solutions that challenge the incumbent players and advance the development of Britain’s Full Fibre future.
CityFibre’s approach to people and diversity is encapsulated by The CityFibre Way – a code of behaviours that shape its culture to bring the best out of its people. This culture includes four key pillars that encourage employees to: “Think smart, act fast”; “Back each other”; “Give it our best”; and “Build a legacy”.
The company has an inclusive culture and runs several initiatives to actively support and encourage diversity, equity and inclusion. CityFibre’s Diversity and Inclusion steering group is sponsored by Simon Holden, Chief Operating Officer, with support from leaders across the business. The winners of the first UK Fibre Awards will be revealed on Thursday 09 June at the London Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London. See https://fibreawards.com for details.
