  • Partners can combine it with the OpenMPS managed print service to offer a complete print package to their end user customers

Basingstoke, 21 June 2022Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) company, has launched an installation service for printers and multi-function devices that partners can use to offer more value to their end-user customers and drive additional services revenue. Provided by qualified and trained engineers, the end-to-end service includes options for pre-delivery inspection, testing, network installation and training.

Printers and multi-functional devices can be delivered and installed as instructed and all waste packaging will be removed. Customers and partners will also have access to a dedicated support line with escalation to a Level 2 Support Desk included.

The installation service can be provided as part of a Tech-as-a-Service (TaaS) offering, allowing it to be paid for as part of a subscription package of products and services. It can also be offered alongside Tech Data’s OpenMPS managed print services proposition, which makes it very easy for partners to support the on-going needs of their customers – on a single device or an entire fleet of printers with fully managed supplies replenishment to any location in the UK.

Chris Bates, business unit manager, print and supplies, UK, at Tech Data, said: “Tech Data is committed to providing best-in-class service and with the print installation service we intend to grow and enhance that reputation. It provides partners with a simple and cost-effective way to add value for their customers without having to commit additional resources. When combined with our OpenMPS service, partners can extend their managed services offering even further.”

The print installation service is the latest to be added to Tech Data’s growing portfolio of services that partners can offer to their own customers. Others include pre-delivery configuration, installation and testing of systems – covering smartphones to servers and everything in between, installation services for UPS and power management systems, virtual warehousing, supply chain management, and third-party logistics.

With Tech-as-a-Service, partners can offer subscription options on any combination of hardware, software and services (provided by Tech Data or the partner). Its trade-in services enable partners to offer customers residual values on old equipment and verified refurbishment and recycling of equipment.
