Zyxel Networks: Zyxel Networks boosts operational efficiency at JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa with reliable workforce WiFi

Cloud-managed WiFi with AI-powered monitoring keeps staff connected and operations running smoothly.

HSINCHU, Taiwan, August 10, 2026 – Zyxel Networks, a leader in delivering secure and AI-powered cloud networking solutions, today announced the successful deployment of its Nebula cloud networking solution at JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, where a cloud-managed network of more than 100 access points (APs) provides seamless, high-density connectivity across the resort’s staff accommodation, supporting the workforce behind one of the Maldives’ premier luxury island resorts.

Providing consistent connectivity across staff accommodation spread over five residential blocks presented both a structural and operational challenge. At JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, success depended not on adding more APs alone, but on designing a network that could overcome signal interference while remaining easy to manage at scale.

Together with partners Plexus Distribution and Focus Computers, Zyxel Networks addressed these challenges through a combination of intelligent network design, robust infrastructure and cloud-based management that deliver:

Location-centric wireless design: Rather than relying on corridor-mounted APs that struggled to provide in-room WiFi because of metal-panel walls, the wireless architecture was redesigned around where connectivity mattered most. Around 95 NWA90AX PRO indoor APs were installed directly in staff rooms to deliver consistent room-level coverage, while NWA55AXE outdoor APs extend reliable WiFi across gardens and other communal spaces.

Robust network backbone: GS1920-24HPv2 smart managed switches were installed across each accommodation block, forming a stable, high-capacity backbone for the network. Their PoE capabilities simplify deployment, enabling flexible AP placement while reducing cabling requirements across multiple buildings.

Centralised cloud operations: Zyxel Networks’ Nebula cloud management platform provides a single-pane-of-glass view of the entire network, enabling centralised monitoring and remote management. Nebula’s AI-powered Wireless Health helps IT teams automatically detect and diagnose WiFi issues while optimising performance before they impact the daily operations of resort associates.

“To ensure a strong and stable internet experience for our associates, we decided to install individual APs inside each room. For this, we needed a high-quality solution at an affordable price. That is why we selected Zyxel Networks’ products for our upgrade,” commented Dilanka Adikari, Senior IT Specialist at JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa. “The Zyxel Nebula cloud networking solution has made managing all APs, switches, and their configurations extremely easy. It has simplified our operations and improved the overall network reliability,” Adikari added.

“Reliable connectivity for hospitality workforces is often overlooked, yet it is every bit as demanding as guest-facing networks. After all, guests may be on holiday, but the network never is,” said Kell Lin, Senior Associate Vice President, Networking Strategic Business Unit, Zyxel Networks. “This project shows what is possible when the right technology meets strong local expertise. The result is reliable connectivity that keeps operations running smoothly and proves that even the thickest walls do not always get the last word.”

Trusted by over one million businesses across 150 markets, Zyxel Networks brings decades of networking expertise to the hospitality industry. Today, more than 7,000 hotels and resorts worldwide rely on Zyxel Networks’ hospitality solutions to power reliable connectivity, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
