Basingstoke, 06 January 2021 – Tech Data has announced the appointment of Darren Dixon as Microsoft business unit manager, underlining its continued commitment to supporting partners in every aspect of developing their Microsoft cloud business practices and sales.
The company has also expanded its Microsoft SureStep team to provide enhanced support to more Microsoft partners and ensure they understand and reap the full benefits from the programmes and resources that Tech Data and Microsoft provide.
Dixon joined Tech Data eight years ago as IBM Business Development Manager and spent the last three years as Tech Data’s business manager for Lenovo Data Centre and Nutanix. In total, he has 23 years of experience working in distribution account management.
Commenting on this new challenge, Darren Dixon said: “Cloud solutions and services is one of the fastest-growing areas of our business right now and moving to the Microsoft team as Tech Data is progressing to the next phase of partner development and growth is an exciting prospect.
“Tech Data is the leader in Microsoft CSP and the go-to distributor for new partners. We have unrivalled resources and a fantastic and extensive team that is entirely focused on enabling partners and helping them to grow their Microsoft cloud practices. I look forward to working with the many established Microsoft CSP partners that we already have and with the new ones we are now bringing onto our Velocity and Practice Builder programmes to continue our mutual advancement and progression.”
The Tech Data SureStep team now includes eight Ambassadors who will help and support all partners in driving sales of Modern Workplace (Microsoft 365, Teams, and security), Azure and Dynamics 365 cloud solutions. Separately, the pre-sales technical team has also grown with three new additions boosting the expert assistance available to Microsoft partners.
The SureStep team will be doing everything they can to help partners understand the many different aspects of Microsoft CSP, and of Tech Data’s Velocity and Cloud Practice Builder schemes, which provide the enablement and development resources resellers need to transform themselves into competent, capable, and successful providers of cloud solutions and services.
With these additions, Tech Data’s Microsoft CSP team is best placed to support partners on all technical, go-to-market and commercial aspects of their Microsoft business. From training and certification, through to the development of specialist business practices and delivery of specific solutions.
Tech Data has just launched the next phase of the Velocity on-boarding and enablement programme for CSP partners. Cloud Practice Builder provides a complete transformational journey for partners that want to develop a viable and distinct cloud practice.
