Former Dell Business Manager’s key goal will be to emphasise the value that Tech Data delivers to customers across Print & Supplies
Basingstoke, 10 February 2020 – Tech Data (Nasdaq: TECD) has announced the appointment of Chris Bates as Business Unit Manager for Print and Supplies. He takes the reins from Stephen Martin, who has taken up the post of Head of Sales with Maverick AV Solutions – Tech Data’s specialist audiovisual business unit.
Bates arrives in his new role from a period of just under five years as Business Manager for Tech Data’s Dell client business, during which he has overseen significant growth and development. He has been with Tech Data for over 15 years, so has plenty of experience of the organisation and how it works.
Commenting on his new role, he said: “I’m excited to be taking on this new role. We have an opportunity to take Tech Data’s print and supplies business to a new level – not only in supporting partner sales growth but also in forging closer and more focused relationships with our supplier partners and reseller customers.
“Tech Data is one of the biggest channel suppliers of print devices and supplies, we have a fantastic and very experienced team and an amazing set of tools – not least the excellent supplies configurator – that delivers tremendous value for our customers. Over the next few months, one of my goals will be to ensure our customers understand the value that we can deliver to them as a trusted advisor on print and supplies, in what remains a vitally important segment of the market.”
Tech Data is a key channel partner for a number of leading vendors of printers and multi-functional devices, including Canon, Epson, HP Inc, OKI and Xerox.
