Experienced pre-sales professional returns to spearhead company’s renewed drive to become a leading player in the European wireless LAN market solutions

Wokingham, 10 October 2023 – Zyxel Networks has announced the appointment of Hugh Simpson as EMEA Marketing Development Manager – Wireless LAN, underlining its commitment to becoming a leading player in this segment of the market and supporting partners in driving sales of WiFi solutions.

Simpson brings more than two decades of experience working in the networking business to this pivotal post – over half of which was spent at Zyxel. Previously, he spent 13 years at the company, most recently as European Pre-Sales Manager – a role he performed for three years, before leaving at the end of 2018. He has returned after an absence of around four and a half years, during which time he has worked in key pre-sales roles at specialist network and mobile services companies.

Commenting on the appointment, Jean-Michel Bielli, Senior Vice President Channel Sales EMEA and North America at Zyxel, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Hugh back to the Zyxel team. We want to be a leader in the EMEA wireless LAN market and see tremendous potential for growth with our partners. Hugh knows our business and with his in-depth experience and expertise in business development, he will play a pivotal role in helping us to support partners in growing their sales of Zyxel’s wireless products.”

Hugh Simpson added: “It’s great to coming back to Zyxel at such an exciting time. We have some amazing solutions and a fantastic development roadmap. I am honoured to be taking this new role and really looking forward to working with our partners to grow their WiFi solutions sales.”

Bielli said that Zyxel will be making further strategic investments to support partner growth with its wireless solutions. “Zyxel WiFi access points and LTE/5G routers deliver the performance, functionality and reliability that customers need – and our sales of these products have continued to grow, despite the economic challenges in the region. We will be making further investments to ensure that we can continue on an upward trajectory and establish Zyxel as a leading player in this key segment of the networking market.”

Zyxel has an extensive range of WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E access points and will soon be adding WiFi 7 models. As well as making use of the latest technologies available, Zyxel makes extensive use of customer and partner feedback to direct its research and development priorities.
